01 humility
I'm not perfect and I won't pretend to be. When I ship a bad decision, break something, or someone makes a fair point against my plan, I'll say so plainly and change course. No corporate non-apologies, no quietly editing the changelog.
02 honesty
No decision in GlassHome comes from a greedy or exploitative place. Some things are paid, some code is proprietary, some features land later than you'd like. Every one of those is a tradeoff I'm happy to explain when asked, never a tactic to squeeze you.
03 longevity
The widget SDK, CLI, UI library, and widget collection are already open source. The dashboard app is the one closed piece, and if I'm unable to keep working on GlassHome for any reason, I will publish that code too, for the community to tinker with, fork, and keep alive. Your home shouldn't stop working because my project did.
04 community
GlassHome grew out of the home automation community, and I do my best to keep that spirit. I read the Discord, answer questions myself, and build what people actually ask for, not what a roadmap deck says should excite you.
05 purpose
I'm not building a commercial product for the sake of money. PRO exists so I can spend more time building something people want: it pays for infrastructure, funds development, and keeps the free tier free.
